History and Activities
Giga Corporation was established as a venture company by an entrepreneur, Kan-ichi Tachibana in 1995 after he resigned from Mitsubishi Materials Corp., having had a eager desire to create innovative products using his knowledge and technology.

Shortly after the establishment, Giga succeeded to develop Surge Absorbers, which are sold to various customers in Japan and overseas. LG, India is one of largest customers of this product.

Usually 6 pieces of Surge Absorbers are used in a colour TV set and as far as high voltage surge absorbers of above 3,000V with UL standard can be supplied only by Mitsubishi Material Corporation and Giga Corporation only. It gains the attention from the industry as a surge protective device for protection of lightning-induced surge
through ADSL and Satellite Antenna.

In 2002, Giga developed to produce Fine Ceramics, such as Alumina (AL2O3), Zirconia (ZrO2) and Silicon Nitride (Si3N4). In 2005, Giga started commercial production of high purity products. It is now marketing various products, including ceramics for welding arc shield,  lagging ceramics for pulley and hopper.
